We connected with the African continent to carry out Amefricanas: our first mapping of initiatives supporting women’s political leadership on the African continent, in partnership with WALPE (Zimbabwe), Nalafem (Kenya), and Unidas Somos Mais Fortes (Angola). In getting to know the ecosystem for strengthening women’s leadership across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the African continent, what we found was not coincidence, but recognition. We discovered similarities in the challenges, the strategies, and the bets. A vast repertoire of learnings available for exchange and collaboration. This is a summary of the preliminary findings from this mapping.
